I love it when inspiration strikes, and everything falls into place. I headed down to my little makeshift studio in the basement, wondering just what on earth I was going to make for tonight's inspiration. I'm just getting over a nasty flu bug, and I really wanted to be in bed, not in my basement :-)

Sitting right on my beading table next to my keyboard was one of our lovely swirl design copper rings, and next to that was a crystal copper heart - perfect! Plus, you must all know by now my huge love affair with anything, and everything copper.

I created a wire wrapped bail for the heart using a Vintaj heavy gauge brass headpin. The headpin is far stiffer than copper wire, and will hold it's shape better. Don't worry about the colour mis-match. It works with the vintage-y look.

I also chose to have the clasp secure in the front. You'll notice I used a fairly large lobster clasp. I think a smaller one would look better. This was all I could find on my disaster zone of a desk though - sigh.

I think this design would also look great as a key fob, a purse charm, or even attached to a bookmark finding.
