Well - they'll be going back to school soon - moping and moaning about it, and once they are back - happy to be with their friends - like a Phoenix arisen anew. ;-)

Earrings like this will certainly make a dramatic statement - unless of course - their school has some major restrictions on the length of earrings. In which case, you could always just keep them for yourself ... .

1. Select your feathers. I used 3 black and one 1 red per earring. The baby crimps are perfect for feathers - but hold about 4 at the max.
2. Line up the feathers in the crimps, and fold down one side of the crimp, using pliers, then the other. If there is the end of a feather sticking out - trim it with wire cutters or sharp scissors.
   
3. Wire the garnet drop onto the short piece of chain using fine wire.
   
4. Add a jumpring to the key charm
5. Take another jumpring, and add the feathers, the chain, and the key, and the ear wire.
