Calling Birds? Who are they calling? Can you hear me now? Coooo!

Actually - apparently it was "Colly Birds" which become Collie - which morphed into Calling. Colly refers to coal - as in coal black - so these were "Black Birds."

But I have Gold Birds. Not to be confused with Goldbergs, which is also not to be confused with Icebergs. Confused yet?

Any way - this "Fire Opal and Aqua" set of earrings is all about colour. The birds - well - they are flights of fancy.

I used a heavier gauge wire for rigidity - and started with the pear briolette, did a wrapped loop, added the beads, did a simple loop at the top, and then attached to the earwire. The loop through the briolette is shaped more into a triangle than a circle - to better echo the shape of the tip of the bead.
