This Carnelian is so glorious - such a wonderful, yummy, candy look to it. I wanted to use some of it - but wanted to try a different colour combination - something non-obvious - well - to me, anyway. Obvious to me is combining it with black or blue. (Blue is the complementary colour, Black - well - everything looks great with black.)

The ivory beads looked really nice with the Carnelian, so I grabbed some of the carved bone and some of the Swarovski gemstone pearls and started designing.

Halfway through, I decided that it needed a focal, so I wired a bone bead onto a filigree star as a pendant.

To make the pendant:

Cut a piece of wire about 12 inches long.  Thread a small accent bead to the middle, and fold the wire in half at the bead. Thread on the bone bead, and spread the two halves of the wire on the other side. Poke each end of the wire through a different hole on the filigree. Bring the wires together and twist to secure the bead. To tidy up the ends of the wire and hide them, bring the two wires back through the filigree, and wind around the base of the bead several times, and then cut off close to the bead, making sure that the ends are tucked in and hidden. Add a jumpring to hang it from.

I used up some of the tumbled nuggets at the end of the necklace, just because I was running out of donuts and I had lots of the nuggets left.

Cut about 25 inches of beading cable.

1. Using a crimp - secure one end to half of the clasp. Cover the clasp with a crimp cover.
2. String 5 x tumbled nugget, 1 6 mm Swa Ivory Pearl, 5 x donut, 1 gold accent bead, 1 6 mm Ivory, 1 accent, 3 donuts, 1 accent, 1 nugget, 1 accent, 3 donuts, 1 accent, 1 8 mm Ivory, 1 accent, 3 donuts, 1 accent, 1 bead cap, 1 bone bead, 1 bead cap, 1 accent, 3 donuts, 1 accent, 1 nugget, 1 accent, 1 nugget, 1 accent, the pendant, and then ... the other half of the necklace, which is the same - so reverse the order above. 
3. Finish with a crimp and the other side of the clasp. These hook clasp need just one side of the hook to be opened slightly to slide the jump ring on and off as a clasp.
