Rock N' Pearl

by: Kelly Garland

As soon as I saw these Silver Leaf Jasper I knew they'd make a great monotone bracelet that would look great with anything white, grey and black and all those shades in between. Throw in some Swarovski pearls and a sterling clasp and you've got a sophisticated piece without the price tag. BeadFx does carry several Swarovski pearl strands in a wide selection of silvers, greys and blacks which would all work well with this piece. Add a pair of matching Swarovski pearl earrings and you're complete!

This is a fairly easy project, so have fun. If the pattern used here doesn't work for you, mix it up!! Before you start putting this together, lay out the stone beads and choose the ones that work well with the added silver and pearls. There is a variety of different shades and patterns in each bead.

Directions

1. Start by cutting a length of beading wire to the desired bracelet size. Generally 7 to 8 inches will do it, depending on body type. Also remember to add in another inch for the toggle clasp for the perfect fit.

2. Crimp one end, leaving a large enough loop for a jump ring.

3. Create your design on a beading mat. I used a pattern for this piece but feel free to mix this up if it doesn't work for you. However, given the stone beads have a variety of shades and patterns, it's a good idea to maintain some symmetry through your work. Laying out work prior is always a good idea.

4. When you've reached your desired length, create another loop by crimping. Add crimp covers to both ends at this point before moving onto the toggle.

5. Add a jump ring to each loop leaving it open. Add the toggle on each end and close your jump rings.

**Tip: If the clasp begins to tarnish, simply make a paste with baking soda and rub it on the toggle clasp. Be careful not to rub any of the stones or pearls as baking soda is an abrasive that will remove finish. Which is why it's so great for cleaning sterling!
